It was the first day I walked from home to the market.
There was a Senegalese man walking along the same street.
He asked me where I was going. I answered, "I'm going to the market."
"I'm going there too. I'll show you where the market is.", he said.
On the way to the market, he stopped at a small shop called "Boutique" by Senegalese to buy packages of water.
I didn't ask him to buy it, though, he bought a package of water for me naturally.
It was very hot day and I needed to drink some water.
I asked him, "How much did it cost?"
He said, "I don't need it.", he said. He just bought it with his kindness.
I encountered people with this kind of kindness several times since I arrived in Senegal.
I'm in a foreign country now but I'm feeling that people living here are only kind people. I'm surprised at that fact and it makes me relaxed.
I received water, but the kindness I received was more memorable.
When people drink the package of water, first chew the tip of it and open to drink.
初めて家からマルシェ（市場）まで歩いた日のことです。
たまたま、同じ道を歩いているセネガル人がいました。
どこに行くか聞かれたので、「マルシェに行くよ。」と答えたら、
「私も行くから、場所を教えるよ。」と言うのです。
途中で、なんとブティック（商店）に寄って水を買いました。
その時、頼んでいないのに、私の分の水も買ってくれました。
とても暑かったので、ちょうど水を飲みたいタイミングでした。
「いくらした？」と聞くと、
「いらないよ。」と彼は言いました。
純粋に、優しさで買ってくれただけなのです。
私は、セネガルに来てからこういう見返りを求めない行動に何回か遭遇しました。
海外なので周りを警戒しながら行動していますが、
「悪い人など本当にいるのか？」と気が緩んでしまうくらい優しい人が多いことに気付かされます。
もらったのは水だけど、もらった優しさの方が記憶に残っています。
