This happened when I went to the water department to pay my water bill.
I hade a conversation with a Senegalese who was sitting next to me in the department.
I said, "I'm from Japan."
He excitedly answered, "I like manga!"
I was curious what comics he likes, so I asked him, "What kind of manga do you like?"
He said, "Naruto!"
And then, "Secret of the Three Kingdoms!"
I found that he was such a big fan.
Again I asked him, "What else?"
He said, "Journey to the West!"
How enthusiastic!
I felt that Japanese culture has come into Senegal.
The ice cream is sold in the ground in the school during the break time.
I bought a yellow-green one, but could not find out what flavor it was.
They cost 25 FCFA (5 yen) each.
水道代の支払いで水道局に行った時の出来事。
隣に座っていたセネガル人と会話をして、
私が「日本から来ました。」と言うと、
その人は、「マンガが好きなんだ！」と興奮して話に食いついてきました。
気になったので、
「何のマンガですか？」と聞くと、
「ナルト！」
「他には、三国志！」
と三国志とはなかなかマニアックな人だなぁと思いつつ、
「あとは、好きなものある？」
と聞くと、
「西遊記！」
渋い！
セネガルにも日本の文化は浸透している、と感じました。
小学校の中休みに、校庭で売られているアイス。
黄緑を買ったけど何味か判断がつきませんでした。
