After moving in, I had no furniture in my room, so I looked for a desk and a chair.
Actually there were no big furniture stores around here and what I could only found was a desk and a chair that looked like furniture putting in a cafe.
Especially, these chairs are the standard chairs I can find everywhere in Senegal.
They are not enough to work, but I got them for the time being.
I found a Senegalese funiture craftsman, then I ordered a desk to him.
About two weeks later, those desk and chair were ready.
For this order, I asked for only the size (work space and height) and I had him design them.
10 liters bottle of water is on top of the desk in the picture. This is a "weight".
After he brought the desk to my house, he glued the glass to the frame, and the weights were placed on it until drying.
If you look closely, you can see that the metal parts are welded and the leather of the chair seat is covered by hand.
There are many craftsmen in Senegal.
I got some new furniture, the standard of living has improved a little.
引っ越し後に家具が何もなかったので、机とイスを探しました。
大きな家具屋はなく、見つけたのはカフェにありそうな机とイスでした。
このイスは、セネガルのあちこちで見かける定番イスです。
作業するには小さいですが、ひとまず揃えました。
そして、知り合いの家具職人のセネガル人に、机を作って欲しいと注文しました。
2週間くらいしてその机とイスができました。
今回の注文は、好きなサイズ（作業スペース、高さ）を決めて頼んで、デザインはおまかせでした。
写真の机の上に、水10Lが乗っています。
これは「重し」です。
家に運んで来てから、ガラス面を枠に接着して、重しを乗せて乾かしているのです。
近くで見ると、金属部分が溶接されていることや、イスの座面の革が手作業で張られていることが分かります。
器用な職人が多いセネガル。
家具が増え、生活レベルがちょいと上がりました。
