It's been a while since I took a day off.
I decided to go to the market named "Marché".
Shops are lined up on the street.
Goods Senegalese are selling are clothing, shoes, electrical appliances, food, furniture, etc.
The feature of the market is the large amount of fabrics patterned with Senegalese traditional wear. The clothes are extremely well stocked and desined with flashy patterns. Some of clothes are simple solid colors.
Marchandise is basically sandy because they are put outside all the time.
There are piles of old clothes and shoes. Most of the store clerks seem to lose motivation to sell items.
Other than that, fakes of famous brands are sold here and there. I laughed when I saw a NIKE logo with a horn.
When Japanese people walk around here, we stand out.
When I ask about the price of goods, maybe I am told the much higher price than the appropriate price. I think the reason they say that is because they think we have lots of money.
But I have already learned a local word which is a special discounting word.
The magic word is "Waniko!"
Yesterday, one of my peers bought a soccer uniform. The initial price a seller said was 9,000 FCFA. (1,800 yen) We already found that the uniform was a fake goods because it was cheap. The quality of item was low, but it looked exactly the same, so my friend wanted to buy it although he knew.
He used the magic word, and succeeded in cutting the price down to 7,000 FCFA. (1,400 yen) He could discount 2,000 FCFA!
I believe that it could discount a little more.
For now, we say "Waniko!" at the store every time, the price is down from the first price. I'd like to acquire the discounting skill in the life here.
Negociating skill will be definitely the essential part of my life in Senegal. I'm sure that improving the language skill is absolutely efficient to live in foreign countries.
I'm wondering how my language sense will change after 2 years compared with the situation I cannot speak at all now.
Other than pigs, a large numbers of cows are also free in the wild.
土曜の午後から久しぶりの休みでした。
マルシェ（市場）に行きました。
上野のアメ横みたいに店がぎっちり並んでいます。
売ってるものは、
服。靴。電化製品。食材。家具。
特徴的なのは、セネガル人が着る服の生地の布が多く売られています。
布は、在庫がめちゃくちゃ豊富で、派手な柄ものも、シンプルな無地のものも売っています。
服や靴はずっとかけられているので、砂がかぶってます。
古着や靴が山のように積まれていて、売る気があるのかないのか分からないような店構えのところが多いです。
あとは、プランドもののパチもんがあちらこちらに売っています。
ナイキのマークに「つの」が生えたマークを見たときは、さすがに吹き出しました。
ここでは、日本人が歩いていると、かなり目立ちます。
日本人はお金を持っているというが考えなのか、ものの値段を聞いた時、はじめに言う値段をかなり釣り上げられます。
でも、私は値切りの言葉を習得したので、知っています。
魔法の言葉「ワニコ」
昨日は、同期の隊員が、サッカーのユニフォームを買いました。
はじめの提示額が9000フラン（1800円）。
ユニフォームの値段的にすでにパチもんと分かります。
クオリティは低いけど、見た目はそっくりなんで、分かった上で買います。
値切って7000フラン（1400円）。
2000フラン値切れました。
きっともうちょっと値切れるはず！
今のところ
「ワニコッ！」
と最強呪文のように言うだけで値段がかなり下がる模様。もう少し上手いこと値切れるようになりたい。
値切りはこれからの生活で欠かせないものになるでしょう。
語学の向上は絶対に必要だとセネガルに来て実感しています。
今、全く話すことのできない状態から2年後どうなるかな？
豚同様、牛も大量に野放しです。
