October has arrived.
The rainy season is turning into the dry season.
Will it really stop heavy raining?
I feel a little sad.
The weather forecast still shows 40 degrees Celsius, so I think it is time to start feeling the difference of the season between Japan and Senegal.
I was told that October 4th would be the beginning of the new school year for elementary schools, so this was a week I was looking forward to.
I was advised, "There's nothing to do this week if you go to schools except to clean the classrooms and check on the children." So I decided to go there next week.
I thought, "the day I go to schools was put off a bit, but I think this "putting things off" of Senegalese sense would be a big part on working with Senegalese. So I'd like to be flexible.
At the "Teacher Training Center", raising the national flag is done on Mondays.
Everyone gathers under the flag and sings the national anthem.
It mignt be forgotten, the flag has still left up for a week, even it rains or not.
Maybe someone will take it down when someone remember.
It is a little bit sloppy flag-raising.
10月に入りました。
雨季から「乾季」に変わります。
はたして本当に雨は降らなくなるんでしょうか。
少し寂しい気もします。
天気予報ではいまだに40℃が出てくるので、そろそろ日本との季節の差を感じ始めるかなと思っています。
10月4日が小学校の新学期の始まりと言われていたので、楽しみにしていた週でした。
「今週は教室の掃除とか子供たちの確認をするくらいで、行っても何もすることはないよ。」と言われました。
ということで、来週行くことになりました。
少し先になった、と思いましたが、「事を先延ばしにする」セネガル人の感覚は、今後仕事を一緒にする時に大きく関わってくる部分だと思うので、ここは柔軟に対応していきたいです。
教員養成センターでは、毎週月曜に国旗掲揚があります。
旗の下にみんなが集まって、国歌を歌います。
ただ忘れられているのか、雨が降ろうが1週間くらい上げっぱなしなのです。
多分、思い出した時にだれかが下ろすはずです。
