セネガルでは私が歩いていると、
子供たちが「外国人だ！」「シノワ（中国人）だ！」と大きな声で呼びかけてきます。
大人でもそういう人が多いです。

アジア人の見た目の区別は難しいし、「アジア人＝中国人」のイメージが強いということなんでしょう。
「私はジャポネ（日本人）です。」と訂正して、答えています。
「中国人！」と言われると「日本人！」と言いたくなる気持ちが自分にあることに気付きました。
外国人として生活すると、「日本で生活する外国人もこんな感じなのかな？」と新しい感覚が出てきます。
