I gave a class of math to first-year students.
Recently I've been going to two elementary schools, teaching mainly to first-year and second-year students.
The theme this time was, "Big and Small."
In the middle of the lesson, I said,
"Let's go outside and find something big and something small!
And everyone started looking for something big or small.
We began to look at what everyone had brought.
There was a lot of garbage thrown away in the ground of school.
Some kids found large and small caps of plastic bottles.
Most of the kids picked up plants and rocks.
When one child was having fun, the others also was coming to have fun.
When everyone was having fun, I was coming to have fun.
1年生の算数の授業をしました。
最近は小学校2校へ行っていて、主に1,2年生のクラスで授業をしています。
今回教える内容は、
「大きい、小さい」でした。
授業の途中で、
「外に出て大きいもの、小さいものを見つけてみよう！」
と言うと、みんな楽しそうに探していました。
みんなのもってきたものをみんなで見ていきました。
校庭にはゴミがたくさん捨てられているので、
ペットボトルのキャップで大きいキャップと小さいキャップを見つけてきた子がいました。
ほとんどの子供が、植物や石を拾ってきました。
1人の子が楽しんでいると、それが伝染し周りのみんなも楽しい雰囲気になりました。
みんなが楽しんでいると、それに釣られて教える私も楽しいなぁと感じました。
