There is a drum in front of my house.
(Left) This drum is a trash can, which was often fallen down and trash was scattered.
That's why it had been removed for a while.
(Right) The drum has returned!
What a surprise, the red lid was installed.
Senegalese people are amazing at making everything by hand.
Thanks to the new lid, the trash are less likely to be fallen down ans rummaged.
One idea can made a big improvement.
I was walking around town and came across a man who was collecting trash.
I approached him and asked him about his job.
This man goes around to houses and collects garbage. He said that it is not free, users have to pay him a few hundred Japanese yen to collect it.
It looks hard work because he uses a horse and loads the garbage with a box.
In addition, he put the gabage directly in the box, and it gets hot and smell would be storonger.
My town does not have a facility like a garbage incineration facility.
Collected garbage is just piled up on the top of other trash where a large amount of garbage is collected.
I was walking around, thinking "Was there ever a period like this in Japan?"
私が住んでいる家の前にはドラム缶があります。
（左）このドラム缶はゴミ箱で、倒されてゴミが散らかっていることが多かったので、
しばらく撤去されていました。
（右）帰ってきました、ドラム缶！
なんと、赤いフタが取り付けられパワーアップしていました。
セネガル人は手作りで何でもつくっちゃうところがすごいところなんです。
最近はフタがついたおかげで倒されて中身が荒らされることが少なくなりました。
ひとつの工夫でかなり改善されるものです。
町を歩いていると、「ゴミ回収」している人に出会ったので、
声をかけて話を聞いてみました。
この人は町の家を回って、ゴミを回収しています。
無料ではなく、お金を日本円で数百円払うと、回収してくれるそうです。
馬を使って、限られた箱にゴミを積んでいるので、大変です。
さらに、中身を直接入れていて、外は暑くかなりきついにおいになります。
私の町にはゴミ焼却場のような施設はありません。
集められたゴミは、大量のゴミが捨てられているゴミの山の上に捨てられているのです。
日本にもこんな時代があったのか？
と考えながら歩きました。
