I walk only on sandy paths every day.
This walking activity helps to strengthen muscles I never use in Japan.
In December, the first semester ends in Senegal.
The semester test was held at school.
This exam takes two days.
There is only one photocopy machine in school.
I was surprised that school has a copier, but it is not usually used and it is used only to make this test.
The principal of the school, whether joking or serious, always says to me,
"Give papers to the school!"
This is probably because he thinks that paper is precious.
In Japan, it is normal for teachers to print out papers for the number of students in the class.
Here in Senegal, there are 60-70 children in a class and it is not possible in the budget to print one copy for each student every day.
Tests take place at the end of the semester, so there are three times a year.
Today, four papers (tests) were provided for each child.
So I saw a large amount of paper being used for the first time since I came here.
As three children were sitting at a small desk. I saw that many children were cheating by seeing others' tests.

今日は学校でテストが行われました。
このテストは2日がかりで行います。
学校にはコピー機が1台あります。
（コピー機はあるんだ！）と驚いたのですが、普段使われることはなく、使うタイミングはもっぱらこのテストを作る時に限られます。
その小学校の校長先生は、冗談なのか本気なのか、いつも「紙を学校にプレゼントしてくれ！」と私に言ってきます。
それは、たぶん「紙」が貴重な物という認識があるからです。
日本では、先生がプリントをクラスの人数分刷って用意することは普通のことです。
セネガルのこの小学校では、クラスに60〜70人の子供たちがいて、毎日の授業のために1人1枚印刷することは、予算的にできないことなのです。
テストは、学期の終わりに行われるので、年に３回あります。
今日は子供1人に4枚のプリント（テスト）が用意されました。セネガルでは初めて大量の紙を使うところを見ました。
狭い机に3人詰めて座っているため、隣の子のテストをのぞき見ている子がたくさんいました。
